15/11/2015 0-4 loss away to Limpsfield 3

Our first match of the winter season saw us drawn away to Limpfield, who are out in the sticks! The trek did not seem to help our mood and we all lost in straight sets. Andy Royale and Matt Chivers came close on a couple of occasions to claiming a set, but it wasn't to be. Peter and myself were never really at the races. Things can only get better.......

10/12/2015 4-0 win away to Telford Park 2

This was supposed to be a home match, but somebody had nabbed the courts before I got a chance so we played away. It was as convincing a win as our loss to Limpsfield and we did not drop a set in an easy 4-0 win. Sam and Matt are old friends and were reunited again for the first time in a couple of years on court. They kept tidy numbers, dropping just 9 games. Roberto is back playing for the club after his summer hiatus and its good to have him back. He was paired with Ed, a new member who many say has the best volleys at the club! They obviously were in effect as he and Roberto dropped just 15 games. A good win!

13/12/2015 2-2 draw against Cranleigh 1st at home

This was a slightly controversial game by all accounts. Matt and Roberto has already lost in straight sets to the 1st pair, but were a set and match point up to the 2nd pair. Their ball was called out by the opposition and they went on to lose the set. However, they regained their composure to win the champions tie-break. Andrew, playing in his first game for the 1st team this winter teamed up with Ed to beat the first pair in straights, only to lose in straights to the 2nd pair. Overall a good solid draw and we have 3 points out of a possible 6. We are 2nd in the overall table as things stand with 2 matches left to play away to Spencer 1 and home to Grafton 2.
